Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets about 6 oz / 170 g each, skin-on or skinless
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika optional
  • 1 lemon zest + wedges
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped dill or parsley
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
  • Cooking spray optional

Instructions

  • Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture for better browning.
  • Lightly coat each fillet with olive oil on all exposed sides.
  • Season fillets evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika.
  • If using honey glaze, mix honey with a little lemon zest and brush lightly over the top.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes for even cooking.
  • Spray the basket lightly with cooking spray or brush a thin oil layer to prevent sticking.
  • Place fillets skin-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket; do not overcrowd.
  • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 7–9 minutes for medium doneness (internal 125–130°F / 52–54°C) or 9–12 minutes for well done.
  • Check doneness: salmon should flake easily with a fork and still be moist inside.
  • Remove fillets, rest 1–2 minutes, then squeeze fresh lemon and sprinkle chopped dill before serving.
